FALLEN - Kate Lauren

I enjoyed this read too. It was about a girl who is immortal and she has lived lives over and over again only till the age of 17 then she dies again and re-lives. She's in love with a "Fallen" angel and he remembers her in each different life. But she never remembers and no matter where he goes thats where her life will end up leading her. To him.

It takes place in a reform school. She's been haunted by dark shadows most of her life and the last time she saw them was with a boy who just so happens to die. Because of the unusual circumstances she's been sent to the reform school and there things start to reveal itself.

She meets different people and she spys a guy who she feels absolutely drawn to. I was going to say similar to "Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick" but not so. Like one review said it takes on its own.

I enjoyed the read. Thought it was a good one. If you are into the supernatural good verses evil time of fictional stories then your enjoy this one.

CONTENT:

Content is somewhat so and so, no ok that's right there are some pretty graffic word illustrations in the book that you might question about giving to your church teen.

RECOMMENDATION:

3 out of 5 stars. Its a good read and I did enjoy following the story line but I guess its one that you won't talk about for ages. Not like "The Host" by "Stephanie Meyer". That's a cool book. But see my other review for the one.

THE HOST - Stephanie Meyer

A great book. A great read. A hard to put down type of book. So you get the picture that its a cool book. It is NOTHING LIKE TWILIGHT. Twilight was more of a teenage read and though I liked twilight this one has a bit more umph in it.

Its about an Alien and a human girl. The Host is the human girl and the alien takes over. In most cases the human will fully disappear leaving the alient to control the body without any influence from the human. However this particular human. Melanie is a fighter, like most of the adults, and she does not allow the alien to take full control of the body. The alien may have controlling functions of the physical elements of her body but her mind will never be given up so easily.

Melanie the human fights continuously and though "The wanderer" or "Wander" is a strong alien there is something about this human that wander is unable to control. Its frustrating for Wander but she will learn to love this human and she will learn to love the humans that this human once loved.

This book provokes all elements of emotion that you would expect a good book to provoke. Excitement, anticipation and the inclusion of sadness and happiness. You didn't want the book to end but as we all know all good things come to an end. Great ending.

Great characters. Many to hate, love, like and wonder about. :D...

CONTENT:

No content that makes you skip or feel guilty about :D. Thumbs up in that department. Well in all areas I think.

RECOMMENDATION.
5 out of 5 stars for this book. Totally recommend this book to all who are in to science fiction or just want a great book to read.

HUSH HUSH By Becca Fitzpatrick

Well Hush hush is a young adult fictional story. Its about a girl and a fallen angel, which is given away by the cover. The story holds you in suspension for too long I think. Its great in regards to "Who could want her dead" questioning. Theres alot of things that happen that makes you ask that question throughout the whole story and I like that about it. But I just think that it went too long and then at the end its all compacted it to revealing everything which I thought was disappointing. Its like you get all worked up about what's happening and who it is question and then it drags a little too long and you say oh hurry up already and then you get to the end and your like what! Its all everything happening and then its over before your really are able to divulge all of whats happening and enjoy it. Well thats just what I think.

Alot of mind games go on in this book? Again it makes you question what's happening to Nora. Is she gonna go crazy? But it holds you there again for too long. But again I did like this book. It wasn't a favourite but there are a lot of paths in which you think you have taken the right train of thought on a character and then something happens that makes you reroute the thoughts you had originally taken on a character. Theres a lot of huh? moments but you just keep reading.


The characters:
Main character: Nora Grey

She's really distrusting. Shes a good student and is average with her grades. As I read I got annoyed at her because of her distrust. One of the characters "Patch Cipriano" or something is pretty much a bad boy but he's good kinda. Lol. Anyway In my opinion he proves himself to be trust worthy and even gets her out of a predicament but she still doesn't trust him.

Mind you in her defense she has somewhat of a sixth sense, not a special power or anything, but she knows that he has dark thoughts concerning her and this is what she continues to hold on to however she is also drawn to him in a desirable sense and she tries to fight it and she does a pretty good job of that. Anyway I guess she does get confirmation of the things she fears about him but also finds out other stuff too.

BEST FRIEND: Vee
She's just a party harty girl and likes to go out and do daring things. She's a good sort. She's a good girl trying to be a bad girl. She's into guys though the story doesn't portray her as being permiscuous or anything. She's a typical teen girl. But her desires to be bad get her into some trouble.

PATCH CIPRIANO:
Bad boy. Ok he's got some pretty dark intentions and the story in the begining doesn't give too much away about him. You really can't make up your mind about him because you don't no if he wants to do evil to Nora or if he really does like Nora. There are a lot of unexplainable things that happen to Nora and you start to think that theres something to this guy.

Elliot ?:
Elliot moves from a school and he portrays himself as a really nice guy. And he really is. But does he have motives? Is there a reason why he has come into Nora's life nearly at the same time as patch. Nora's distrust immediately puts her on alert and though she does allow him a little bit of slack she soon discovers that she might be right in not trusting this guy and her defesnses again go all up. But does he really deserve it?

Jules:
A mystery guy. A pompas prat that you think is just not interested in hanging around with Nora or Vee. He's just too good for their company and being a private school student supports the thoughts of him just being an stuck up teen. But he disappears often and not much is revealed about him. This alone makes you suspect him of things but what? Theres not enough about him to place him in the events that occurr in the book. Whats up with Jules?

CONTENTS:
Nothing that makes you skip anything. Nothing that makes you skim words to ensure you have passed the "naughty" words so to speak. Its pretty good in regards to the contents. So I'd give it a thumbs up in that department.

RECOMMENDATION:
I do recommend this book to those who like fictional supernatural stories. Someone who likes a mystery and who likes to try and solve them before the end of the book. Would I read it again? Probably not. Would I relay the story to my friends and family, yeh I would. Its a best seller and I supose its there for a reason. But if you have read "Kate Lauren's FALLEN" then you probably prefer that book more because it doesn't drag things out too much I think and though there are several questions in that book its written in a way that it doesn't feel like its being dragged out. Anyway in the end its up to you whether or not you want to read it but its a cool book and I read it in two days so it was intriguing enough to not put down. Well...that's questionable. Anwyay.

STARS:
Well I give this book a 2 out of 5 stars. Just dragged a bit for me and when it finally concluded it did it too fast and ended to soon. So yeah. That's just my opinion.

The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer

WARNING:

If you haven't read the Twilight saga (any of it) and you intend to you should'nt read this.

Wow...what a great enjoyable read. Nice for a littel fun. But I was amazed at the emotions the book provoked. I said in my previous blog that my opinion of a book not being better then a movie totally turned around and I continue to stand by that. The way that the book was written is very addictive. I know that I read "Breaking Dawn" well into the night and finished it in three days. Thats the problem with great books you just tend to finish them early. Well that's what a friend said. I tend to agree with that. I have finished the last three books, Fallen by Kate Lauren, The Host by Stephanie Meyer and Dead until Dawn by Charlaine Harris, within a short period of time. As a matter of fact I finished all three under two weeks.

Anyway yeah I was amazed at the emotions the book provoked. Now I'm not one to care about trends. I'm me and I enjoy being me. But I really did enjoy Twilight that much that you could say I got sucked into that whole twilight buzz. I found myself watching the twilight movie at least once a night a week after finishing the sequel. I also did my own photography twilight thing, hehehehe, you could say I went a bit far. lol. My husband asked me what the big attraction was. I said don't know.

TEAM EDWARD

I'm a team Edward because I liked his manner and maturity. Jacob was a bit immature for me and reacted a little too much. I like the fact that Edward had great self-control. All those centuries of practice truly helped huh.

JACOB AND BELLA

Now don't get me wrong. Jacob was cool. I liked his straight up-ness for lack of better wording. As for Bella and Jacob's relationship I reckon she totally played him. Utter selfishness. Keeping him close to her to attend to her emotional instability. She knew she loved him only as a friend but she was willing to go with him just because she thought she couldn't have Edward. What a sad one. She was a friggin annoying idiot at times. Especially when it came to Jacob , pulling him along like that and then provoking his anger with thoughtless conversation...ahhh Bella you didn't need to tell Jacob you were planning on sleeping with Edward after you married him...gosh!!! That just angered him up big time. That was just one example of her annoyances.

But she wasnt a total blunder. When she became a vampire she was awesome. She was definately meant to be a vampire. I loved the description used to explain Edwards fascination with his vampire wife. That was cool.

RENESEMEE

Renesemee was an awesome addition. Who would have thought about that twist at the end aye of Jacob's views. I honestly thought that Jacob was going to kill the baby but yeah what a twist. The actual whole baby thing was a cool twist. Poor baby surrounded with all that hate by the Father and the Uncle slash future partner maybe...ugh!!!...lol. That's the thing with a fantasy world things can be absolutely strange and in a fantasy world seem normal. But yeah Renesemme the oposite of her Father and Mother.

POWERS:

Wasn't that cool when finding out about Bella's power. I thought it was cool. Especially when she learnt how to project her power to protect others. I liked that alot. If I wanted a power I think protecting those I cared about would definately be a power I'd have. "...A very talented family. A mind reader for a father, a shield for a Mother and then whatever magic this extraordinary child has betwitched us with...".

VAMPIRES:

I always like it when the goodies gather all their powerful together so reading about that was awesome. Finding out the different powers that became available to the Cullens.

WOLVES:

Not wolves after all aye. Wasn't that a cool scene having them all lined up behind the gathered vampires. Definately was hoping for a combined effort, some team work. Was great. Awesome the team split where Jacob, not having the intention to, creates his own pack and having Leah in it. Seth was totally cool. The first to come to fully accept Edward. Not much to say in this field though because that would be a whole different blog. Same as the vampires.

CONCLUSION:

Thats my little spiel on my thoughts of twilight. Think I might read it all again. :D

Stuff - Novelty

Novelty....I'm reading at the moment but its a novelty and so I'm wondering when it will wear off. I haven't picked up fictional books in years and since picking up Twilight I've just continued to read. Its quite a trip for the mind. I never believed a book could be better then a movie but since reading I have truly turned that opinion right around. Never underestimate the mind huh. I've been loving the books I've read. I don't like picking them though I prefer to get recomendations on books to read. I know that I have a talent for picking the worst movies ever, I swear it. No exaggeration. Once I picked a movie that made me literally sick. I don't want my talent of picking bad movies to roll over to picking bad books. But I did give it ago and I think that it's too late. lol. Anyway I'm reading the Sookie Steakhouse series. But there are some questionable contents that a person like me shouldn't be reading so maybe I won't continue the series. But I like the story lines and the mystery behind the series. I've read so far the Twilight series. The Host by Stephanie Meyer, Fallen by Kate Lauren, and Charlaine Harris Dead Until Dark. Now I have Charlaine Harris A Touch of Dead. Anyway the Novelty doesn't seem to be wearing off just yet so I'll enjoy it while it lasts...!!!
